Over the winter our Vane Man and member Peter Lane has been working long hours cleaning, repairing, restoring and repainting our 2 weather vanes – with a wee bit of help from our Premises Committee chair Neville.
The big VBC one is atop the flag pole and second one is Jim on the club house gable end, and both very smoothly sweeping round to indicate the wind direction. Below are the before and after photos of Jim and a close up of the flagpole vane so you can see the transformation.
The Club thanks Peter very much for his efforts and we can now rely on the wind being accurately shown without ghostly creaking
